Service Description

We will go over the key areas of the body that influence birth and what we can do to help you prepare your body for a smoother birth. Additionally, you will discover ways you can help create more space for an optimal baby position. Finally, we will also cover techniques to mobilize and assess the pelvic bones that can help with pelvic and low back pain in pregnancy. Body preparation for an optimal birthing experience is essential! Very often, it focuses on end-of-pregnancy, but starting earlier than the third trimester to create balance, space, and functions in the body is ideal and encouraged. This body balancing session objectives includes: - As a certified Body Ready Method® Pro and Motherhood Yoga Instructor an assessment of your body alignment and tools to practice at home for better results - Understand which predisposing factors can influence pregnancy and delivery and what can be done about them. - Differentiate between signs and symptoms of low back pain versus pelvic girdle pain. - Identify the signs and symptoms of pubic symphysis dysfunction and know how to protect the pelvis during labor. - Palpate the pelvis and have an idea of the alignment of the pelvis and how different positions during labor can benefit the mom based on her alignment - Understand Pelvic mechanics in labor and delivery and how to influence them with different positions during birth - Understand the different pre-existing back conditions and what labor positions are best for those conditions - Palpate and assess fascia, muscle, bone, and joint mobility in the abdomen and pelvis. - Learn how to balance the pelvic bones to relieve back and pelvic pain during pregnancy - Understand the motions of the pelvis during birth and the common birth pattern the pelvis goes into birth. Furthermore, as a trained and certified Female Pelvic Floor Trainer: 1. Identify the muscle layers and specific functions of the pelvic floor muscles. 2. Locate and palpate pelvic floor muscles externally. 3. Locate specific bony landmarks related to female pelvic pain conditions. 4. Trigger point release therapy and correct foam rolling exercises 5. Identify certain pelvic pain conditions. 6. Understand the science behind trigger points, spams, and scar adhesions. 7. List diagnoses that would benefit from pelvic floor physical therapy. 8. Learn and practice myofascial, clock stretch, and other techniques. 9. Learn how to balance pelvic floor scars and abdominal scars.
